Chris Knuteson
Director of Surveying
Mr. Knuteson serves as the Director of Surveying for Point of Beginning. He’s responsible for the WisDOT Construction group. He has worked on hundreds of WisDOT projects all throughout the state during his 15 years with Point of Beginning. In addition to his survey experience, Mr. Knuteson provides 3D modeling services to several major earthwork companies, which requires extensive knowledge of WisDOT plan sets, design, and overall understanding of the construction process.
His areas of expertise include:
Construction Layout, State Highway Construction Layout, State and County, Subdivisions, Assessor’s Plats, Topographic Survey and Mapping, Machine Control, 3D Modeling

Bob Lasky
Survey Crew Chief
Mr. Lasky serves as one of the Survey Crew Chiefs for Point of Beginning. He is very knowledgeable of GPS technology, data collectors, robotic and conventional units, and CAD drafting. Mr. Lasky’s years of surveying with POB has made him a very well-rounded member of our survey team. His experience and attention to detail allows him to oversee several complex projects across the state.
